Julie Ann is a dear. We originally hired her to do a Feng Shui consultation, and the bedroom was where we started making changes. We love it now. Before, it had dark paint which we never liked much, so it was good to lighten it up. The custom bedding is really nice. We made some Feng Shui changes specifically for Partnership, including adding artwork of a couple. My husband and I are getting along well. It’s a more tranquil space for both of us, and that’s helped our relationship.

The whole house got a spruce after the bedroom. Julie Ann helped us pick out paint colors and we have had several other rooms painted. It feels freshened up. The whole process was fun. Julie Ann is great to work with – lots of ideas and very creative.

Julie Ann was a very big help in picking out color combinations. We needed help to cut down on multiple color combinations amongst our properties, and choose better color combinations for them. Some property’s previous owners chose colors that didn’t match. These Victorian homes that are converted to multi-unit housing have a lot of character, and if the colors aren’t coordinated it destroys the look of the house. It makes a significant difference in the overall appearance of the home when you use a professional. We’ve also hired Julie Ann to help us choose carpeting for our rental properties. If you want a good-looking property you can’t cut corners.

Julie Ann is wonderful to work with. She always has several options, and it’s a nice process. Recently, we worked with her on updating The Calhoun, a 1959 mid-rise apartment building. Julie Ann had helped us with the space before, with artwork and other upgrades in 2008, but with lots of new buildings in the area, we wanted to make sure it fit in and stayed just as hip and trendy. Julie Ann did a great job helping us give it a fresh look with some of that “Uptown Flair.”

With new paint, wallcoverings, and other features it just feels better. You don’t walk in thinking “something needs a change.” It feels nice and new. There’s color and pattern; we added more lighting and unique columns around the doors.

I absolutely love my new office! It says something about me and who I am. Prior to the re-design, it was a cluttered, disorganized mess that really said nothing about who I am. In fact, it was almost the opposite of what I like – having an organized space and having it designed around somewhat of a theme. I tended to use my office as a catch-all for things I didn’t know where to put or what to do with. Other than having some travel pictures up that I love, there was really nothing to it.

Now it’s well-organized, bright and seems to flow in the way it’s laid out. I love the desk and how it sits. I can either work by the window and look out at the garden and at the birds, which I love to do, or look out into the living room and be part of anything going on there. The artwork above the desk is beautiful too. It shows me that big doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

My work attitude and feeling of what the office is has definitely changed – I like to be there even when I’m not working. It doesn’t feel only like an office but is actually a relaxing place to be.

Working with Julie Ann was fabulous. I must admit that when my husband mentioned bringing someone in who does Feng Shui I was somewhat questioning as to what this really was and what it would do. But we made a definite connection when we first met. She was able to tell what I liked and wanted. And there wasn’t anything she showed me that I didn’t like – I even found some ideas that she liked better!

Julie Ann is a creative designer who entered my life just at the right time. For years I have collected ideas for decorating that have stayed in a folder and never been touched. I could not get to the point of feeling confident on creating the decor in my room. Julie gets an A++ rating from me. We had a very difficult project and I wanted to hire someone who specialized in apartment interiors. I knew Julie had worked for several of our competitors and she was recommended by some of my colleagues as well.

Our apartment hallways have low ceilings and are very short. The old design looked very antiquated, lacking color, giving it a very washed out effect.

Julie did a fantastic job by changing the entire character of the halls. The wallpaper was replaced with a pattern that looked very rich and elegant. This added depth to the walls and made you feel like you were in a luxury apartment building as opposed to a budget priced building as the old wallpaper reflected.

She also changed the color of the apartment doors from a plain white to a darker green which accented the doors. This really helped the apartment doors to stand out and introduce color to the halls. Julie also picked out some very contemporary artwork for each floors’ lobby along with a sitting bench. The carpet that Julie picked out was a very complementary design to the wallpaper and doors.

She worked with us and kept within our budget. Through some of her purchasing connections, we saved several thousand off the price of the project.
